Hi! I'm Lauren Darr Murray, the creative force behind laurel + finch. As the owner and lead designer, I wear many hats – from orchestrating breathtaking floral arrangements to managing consultations and emails, handling scheduling, and swiftly solving any challenges that come my way. I love to spend time with my husband, Andrew and our sweet boys, Smith + Sawyer! We have a bluetick coon hound named Jericho and two outdoor cats named Kit Kat + Jovie! We try to get back to East Texas as much as we can to spend time with family. I enjoy being outside but hate mosquitoes and live life with the mindset that dessert can solve any ailment!

My passion for design took root at Baylor, where I earned my degree in Interior Design. Sic'em Bears!! Those college days laid the foundation for my creative spirit and set the stage for what was to become an exciting career. In 2008, during my senior year, I dipped my toes into the world of florals. Little did I know that this introduction would be the start of something bigger and would define my professional journey. Fast forward nine years, and laurel + finch came to life. With over 18 years of experience in the floral industry, I bring a wealth of knowledge and a keen eye for design to every project.

Kallie joined the team in March 2024. Having almost a decade of experience in the wedding and event industry, and a love for floral design, it was a natural fit. As the production manager that she is, she is quite literally the glue that holds the team together! Her passion for floral started when planning her own wedding after graduating from Texas A&M University - Gig'em Aggies! Her desire to make the floral elements of her wedding day the focal point drove her to learn the process of floral design from beginning to end. Her knowledge and experience grew from there through her career as a wedding planner.

Kallie spends her time outside of the studio with her husband, Ethan and her four boys, Walker, Wells, Wade and Watts. She works in other facets of the industry and uses her creative side not only in the studio, but through content creation on our social media outlets. Her favorite part of floral design is seeing the variety of different styles and color palettes that brides choose for their big day and making their vision come to life!

 

 jaden

Jaden joined our team in May 2024. She is a former college athlete in Women's Golf at McLennan Community College and is continuing her education at Tarleton State University. Her passion for floral began in her high school floral class where she learned the basics of floral design. Jaden hopes to pursue her passion after college by opening her own floral shop abroad!​​​

Addie joined the team in 2025, after coming to Waco to attend Baylor University. From East Texas, Addie actually knew Lauren's family so it was a natural connection from the get go! Addie is a go-getter and likes to get tasks done, no matter how big or small. She loves sorority life, is an amazing friend, enjoys concerts + cheers on her boyfriend in whatever sport he is coaching!

izabelle

Izabelle is our Lorena high school intern, gaining practical knowledge of what she has learned in school with a working business. We are excited to partner with the school to help her grow in her floral education.
